The first reason why there are
so many smoking teenagers in Bulgaria is that the Cigarettes are really cheap
there. One of the cheapest packages costs 4,3 Lewa. That’s about 2€. In Sweden
the cigarettes are very expensive. The teenagers maybe don’t have enough money
to buy some. To change the situation in Bulgaria, the government could increase
the prices of cigarettes so that teenagers couldn’t buy them any more because
they don’t have enough money.
Another reason why there
aren’t that many teenagers smoking like in Bulgaria is that the
cigarette-vendors check the ID.
The last reason is that in
Bulgaria is very poor. To do anything, the cigarettes are a distraction for the
teenagers. So the police should do more controls.
The most important thing is that
they explain why smoking isn’t good for them. If they would do this I think the
situation there would be better soon.
